Our products address the market demand for low power and low cost Wi-Fi connectivity. We meet these demands through our ultra-low power chip and 802.11 b and 802.11 b/g/n modules, suite of embedded and Serial to Wi-Fi software, and complete solutions and development kits. In addition, a number of device and module vendors offer solutions based on our technology. Our products are sold through both direct and indirect channels.
With our embedded Wi-Fi solutions , customers across a variety of industries can now develop a whole new class of Internet connected products. We are focused on five key market segments: healthcare and fitness , smart energy, industrial control, commercial/building automation and consumer home.
The low power Wi-Fi market is growing dramatically. Over two billion Wi-Fi devices are on the market today. Market research firm IHS iSuppli forecasts that Wi-Fi chipsets shipments will exceed 1 billion this year (2012) , with more than two billion units expected to ship in 2014. This market is being driven by the increasing popularity of Wi-Fi as a ubiquitous utility to support a wide variety of both mundane and sophisticated uses.
